Stormwater Treatment

TJP has a wealth of experience in the design of many water treatment systems ranging from just a few gallons per minute to over 40 million gallons per day.

We have experience in design of urban runoff water treatment systems with gross solids removal, chlorine, ultraviolet light and ozone disinfection systems. In addition to our experience in design of urban runoff water and municipal water works, our engineers are industry leaders in the design of treatment systems for a similar application –discharge treatment for aquariums and marine parks. These types of discharge treatment systems have similar requirements to urban runoff treatment systems -- variable pollutant loadings, variable system flows, and stringent discharge water quality requirements.

In recent years, stormwater discharge requirements have become more explicit, which has triggered significant development of new technologies for stormwater treatment. TJP applies our diverse experience in industrial wastewater treatment design to objectively evaluate these technologies for each unique installation.

Examples of our stormwater treatment work include:

  • Low Flow Disinfection System - Santa
    Barbara County Water Agency

  • Aquatic Animal Health Center Discharge
Disinfection System – New York Aquarium

  • Laguna Channel Stormwater Treatment
Facility -- County of Santa Barbara

  • Non-Indigenous Species Feasibility Study -
University of California at San Diego

  • Zero Discharge Treatment Plant - SeaWorld
    of Orlando

  • Storm Water Treatment Facility - City of
    Malibu

  • Stormwater Detention/Attenuation Reservoir
    - Discovery Cove, Orlando

  • Outfall Study and Pilot Treatment Plant -
    SeaWorld of San Diego

  • East & West Outfall Treatment Facilities -
    SeaWorld of San Diego
