Joey has been with TJP since 2006.  His start with the company began as an office assistant / intern and he has continuously developed to become an important member of our TJP’s engineering team.  As an intern Joey learned CAD and he quickly moved into a drafting position.  By 2010 Joey had become a lead designer for several projects as he continued is education to become an engineer.  Now as a graduate from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering Joey has moved in to a full time position as an associate engineer.

Joey’s broad range of experience has made him a valuable member of TJP’s team. His primary duties now include developing projects throughout the design process, scheduling of equipment, coordinating with architects and other engineering disciplines, hydraulic modeling, construction administration, and construction site visits. Also given Joeys extensive CAD experience, he is able to seamlessly work with our other LSS designers as well as perform drafting duties. This has proven to improve efficiency with the engineer to designer interface.

Some of Joey’s projects include the Toledo Zoo Aquarium and Penguin Exhibits, Buffalo Zoo Polar Bear, Oakland Zoo California Trail, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Elephant, SeaWorld Orlando Penguin, Sea Turtle, and Manatee, and SeaWorld San Diego Blue World Project.

When he isn’t working, Joey enjoys surfing, snowboarding, fishing, camping, and traveling.
